Bricks are the building blocks. They can create great things because of their strong foundation, but what about steel? it can build skyscrapers that stand tall in hard winds. There are better things than bricks.
Why build from bricks when you can use metal? Metal makes better and stronger buildings anyway, and it is easy to craft. bricks take work to mold and move into place but metal can be crafted long before it is put into the building.
Why then are bricks better than metal? They're not as strong, not as beautiful, not as elegant, not as grand, and not as easy. They can't make the great overhangs and swooping curves that look so interesting. They actually cost more and you get less space in the buildings you make.

BUT BRICKS LAST. If you look at any old building that is still standing, it is made of stone or brick. It can last thousands of years with just a small wear and tear added to it. It is harder to craft than metal because metal can be bent and built by machines but bricks are laid by the hands of men. Metal buildings will not last unless they are constantly taken care of, that is the nature of something that is easier to build or gain. Bricks don't need to be protected or sheltered like metal that rusts, they are the protection and the shelter because they are hard won. This is why the pyramids last so long, they are built with the work of thousands and laid by the careful hands that carved them.
